    Lupl is a task and work management platform for lawyers and their teams, which integrates with your existing apps to streamline the organization and management of legal work.

    In Q3, our Product and Engineering teams delivered enhancements in three key areas:

    1. Giving lawyers and their teams more flexibility and visibility in managing their tasks, work items, and milestones;
    1. Providing tools for matter teams to keep projects on budget and in scope by providing proactive alerts before they become problems and
    2. Providing admins with additional tools and export options– helping maintain a more comprehensive audit trail for compliance and reporting purposes.

    More ways to view and manage individual matters

    Say ‘hello’ to the Calendar view

    While managing work within Workstreams, lists, or steps (more on this later!) helps stay organized and focused, it’s just as important to take a step back and see your work over the weeks and months. Each matter in Lupl now includes a dedicated Calendar view

    From the calendar, you can:

    1. Zoom out and see a bird’s-eye view of all tasks, work items, and milestones in each month;
    1. Create and assign tasks, just like you would from a Workstream; and,
    1. Set and keep track of important milestones via Key Dates

    With the calendar, legal professionals can comfortably organize deadlines and workloads, ensuring that each matter stays on track.

    Break down complex tasks with Steps

    Steps allow users to break down large tasks into smaller, more manageable components, ensuring that complex tasks can be structured and organized. By tracking each step of a task, Lupl makes it easier to monitor progress, stay on top of deadlines, and maintain clarity on the status of each part of the legal matter.

    The ability to create steps within tasks provides legal professionals with even more flexibility and visibility around what needs to be done to consider a work item complete. And if you need to convert individual steps into their own tasks, this can be done with a single click.

    Search within individual Workstreams

    Following on from previous enhancements to our search function within the Lupl platform, you can now search within individual Workstreams. This is especially helpful when you need to track down a specific item among many.

    Track and combine budgets with tasks

    WIP, Budget and Scope management are critical components of managing matters. Yet, most matter teams struggle to get appropriate visibility into these areas because budget and task management information live in siloed systems.

    Whether you utilize hourly billing, do fixed-fee work, or have AFAs, tracking budget vs. actual time logged is key. However, to get a complete picture, viewing this in conjunction with the work left to be done is critical.

    These circumstances are undesirable, unexpected, and all-too-common. Since we can’t avoid these issues entirely, it would be helpful to at least spot them well ahead of time.

    The need is simple – managing expectations is just as crucial as delivering results. Early communication about potential budget increases or resource requirements allows for easier client conversations and more efficient work allocation within the firm.

    With the new Budget module in Lupl, firms can now feed budget data from their Practice Management System (PMS) and view against work completion rates, all in one combined view—giving lawyers and their teams a more accurate forecast of budget outcomes.

    Additionally, alerts can be created to provide early warning to matter admins, allowing them to avoid difficult conversations.

    More powerful admin tools

    Just as it’s important for lawyers to keep track of their work, it’s equally important for firm admins to have robust tools to manage the platform for their users. This quarter, we made several improvements to our Admin Tools to allow better management of admin logs and export data from Lupl for analysis.

    We focused on enhancing activity logs and making them available for export in two key areas:

    1. The ability to view and export lists of users, matters, and overall activity within the firm.
    1. Exportability of matter-level audit and activity logs for further analysis and insights if required.

    These enhancements to the Admin Tools will be hugely beneficial to firm admins and support staff in terms of gathering data for analysis, investigation, compliance, and reporting obligations. They will further cement Lupl’s position as the leading task and project management tool for law firms.
